Engaged in San Francisco :: Alice & Kelly

Meet Alice and Kelly, engaged in San Francisco! These sweethearts live in the Bay Area, so their choice of Baker Beach with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background was a perfect fit for them. I always enjoy an adventure so traveling to SF to create this dreamy engagement session felt more like fun than work. Alice and Kelly were so easy to work with, and didn’t even flinch when a nudist (part of Baker Beach is a nude beach) almost photobombed one of their shots! During their session we saw at least 2 weddings, one proposal and countless naked people. Somehow we were able to work around all the chaos and get some great shots!

Enjoy this little peek at our adventure, and look for their Folsom wedding to hit the blog next June. Cheers! (click to enlarge)

Class of 2018 :: Emily

In case you haven’t noticed, it’s senior portrait season! This class of 2018 graduate is a gorgeous girl and soccer stud! Emily will be attending the University of Evansville in Indiana next Fall. We had a great time exploring the Hinkle Creek nature area and Lew Howard Park during her session. The sunset was right on time and made for some great light to capture Emily doing her thing!

Lauren + Justin :: An Old Sacramento Wedding

Lauren and Justin said ‘I do’ on 9.16.17 in Old Sacramento at one of my favorite wedding venues, The Firehouse. It was an elegant evening filled with laughter, drinks, dancing, friends and family. Lauren and her lovely ladies got ready at The Citizen Hotel. We met up with them there to capture some of the pre-wedding rituals before heading to the Firehouse to capture the groom with his groomsmen, along with all the fine details of the ceremony and reception decor.

Lauren was escorted down the aisle by two very important men in her life; her father and her stepfather. It was a sweet moment and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house as they brought her to Justin. The ceremony was touching and fun, and after a BIG kiss, Mr. & Mrs. Soanes made their way back down the aisle, ready to party! After some fun family, wedding party and bride and groom portraits, the party was on!

This beautiful day would not have been possible without the help of these great vendors:

Bella Bloom Flowers

Summer Brazell Makeup Artist

Amanda Bowen Hair Artist

Freeport Bakery

Forever Vintage Rentals

Class of 2018 :: Sydney’s Senior Session

The class of 2018 is going to have some gorgeous graduates! Sydney’s senior session was so much fun! This girl has a ton of personality and really comes alive in front of the camera. With mom assisting both of us, we had quite a little adventure around Historic Folsom. We started at my studio to get acquainted and hang up the extra outfits, then went for a walk. After hitting up a few of my favorite spots, we went back for an outfit change and finished up at dusk under the Folsom Crossing Bridge. I just love these photos! Also kind of cool that she is graduating from the same high school I went to 20 (eek!) years ago.

Engaged :: Lindsay and Trevor

Lindsay and Trevor are engaged! These two are not just clients, they are also my friends. I am honored that they chose me to be such a big part of their wedding plans. We decided their engagement session would take place in Coloma, California. The whole town is basically a state park, so there is no shortage of amazing backdrops. We had a lot of fun adventuring around the park and goofing off, but also captured some pretty amazing shots, in my humble opinion! I can’t wait for their wedding next year.

Rochelle + Justin :: Married at The Firehouse

Rochelle and Justin were married at The Firehouse on 9/9/17. This is a special date for me because it is also my wedding anniversary! I’m so excited to share their special day in photos with you. These two are just adorable, wouldn’t you agree? I had such a hard time narrowing down images for this sneak peek. One of my favorite images is of Justin, when he first sees Rochelle coming down the aisle. I am sure he just got a bug in his eye! I love how the older ring bearer is trying his best to get the flower girl and younger ring bearer down the aisle…they had plans of their own! All in all it turned out to be a great day and even better evening as guests danced under the stars and twinkling lights.

Their wedding day would not have been so amazing without the help of these fine folks:

Venue: The Firehouse Restaurant

Floral: Party Petals Floral Design

DJ: Cope Entertainment

Makeup: Diana Cortez

Hair: Corina Nelson at Spanish Fly Hair Garage

Cake: Tami Fuller

Dina and Jason :: A Firehouse Wedding

Meet Dina and Jason. Their Firehouse wedding took place with their closest friends and family on August 26, 2017. They spent the morning at the exquisite Viaggio Estate Winery getting ready for the big day. Guys on one side of the house, girls on the other! After everyone was primped and perfect, we headed to The Firehouse Restaurant in Old Sacramento. Guests were able to sign a wine barrel and a custom piece of art for the couple, and were treated to little jars of candy as their favors and seat holders. Lots of flowers and twinkling lights made for an absolutely gorgeous evening. As the night progressed, the dance floor got very busy, including a dance off between a ring bearer and the bride!

Congratulations to Dina and Jason and their families! It was an honor to share your day with you. Enjoy this sneak peek (click to enlarge).

Fall Mini-Sessions 2017

It’s time to announce our Fall Mini-Sessions for 2017! The kids are back in school and the holidays will be here before you know it. Our mini-sessions make holiday cards and gifts so easy! And they aren’t just for the family. Want a quick business or senior portrait? A photo of or with your pet(s)? Want to capture that baby bump? It’s your 20 minutes, use it how you please!

Each session is 20 minutes long. While that may not sound like a lot of time, I have been doing this for 10 years now, and I know how to capture variety in a short amount of time. Plus young kids and camera shy adults will appreciate this abbreviated session. The location will be pre-determined and you’ll show up a few minutes before your designated time. 20 minutes later, you’re done! It’s that easy.

Our Fall Mini-Sessions also include an online viewing gallery, select retouching, your 5 favorite hi-res images delivered via digital download with print release, plus specials on prints, gifts and holiday cards! All for just $150.

Senior Model :: Kaitlyn ~ Class of 2018

Meet Kaitlyn! She is part of our Senior Model Program, which is something new we started this year. While I have photographed many senior portraits, I’v never run a model program before. If you’ve never heard of this, don’t worry. It just means you probably don’t have high school aged kids yet or you graduated before this type of thing was a “thing”. I have a great group of Folsom students, all graduating in 2018. They will each do a series of sessions over the course of the year (starting late Junior year). During that time they will share their images in hopes of earning referrals. For each senior portrait referral they send my way, they earn prints, products and bonus sessions. It’s a great way to get LOTS of photos for less expense, if you are willing to put in the work.

Okay enough of the details on THAT…on to this gorgeous Class of 2018 Folsom High senior!! This is our second session together and I love how she styled this one. I let my seniors decide what to wear (with some guidance) and even have input on the location. After all, this is about THEM, not me. We had so much fun adventuring around Folsom Lake. If you live around here you know it’s hot right now, so we finished the session with a little dip in the lake to cool off.

You’ll see more of Kaitlyn this Fall after her next session. Until then, enjoy this sneak peek (click to enlarge).

Folsom Family Portraits :: Lake Natoma Fun

It may seem like all my sessions are taken in the same place…they really aren’t! But I have been so ecstatic over the re-opening of a trail near my house and studio that I just can’t seem to stay away. It’s a great spot for families, seniors and engagement sessions. So you’ll probably see a lot more from this area for a while…

On to these cuties! I met little Cameron last Winter when his parents brought him in for a holiday mini-session at the studio. They were smart enough to take advantage of my summer special, bringing grandma and grandpa with them for a full family session. Cameron was not too sure about all the fuss at first, but one thing is for sure; he loves his grandparents!

Enjoy a sneak peek at this adorable Folsom Family (click to enlarge).
